ALL PINATAS · PRACTICAL GUIDE
Compare what you are actually buying
Understand opening styles, fill space and total cost before choosing a piñata.
Opening style comes first
A pull-string design opens through a release mechanism; a hit-to-break design relies on breaking part of the shell. A decorative piece may not be designed to open at all. Confirm the intended use in writing. Choose based on the participants, venue and adult supervision arrangements, not on appearance alone. Age by itself cannot predict how easily a particular child will open a particular shell.
Outside size is not candy capacity
Ask for usable cavity dimensions and the maker’s stated fill limit. Large decorative points or limbs may hold little or no filling. Candy shape, wrappers and packing gaps affect how much fits. Keep within both the cavity space and the stated weight limit. If the party needs more favors, use a separate supply rather than overfilling the piñata.
Compare total cost
Write down the item price, personalization, candy, packing, shipping and tax separately. Check which parts are estimates and which are final. A cheaper item may cost more once a large shipping box is included. Do not compare only the headline product price, and do not assume a blank shipping or tax line means zero.
Read the practical details
Before paying, look for materials, opening instructions, hanging instructions, fill access and package measurements. Ask what to do if the item arrives damaged or differs from the agreed design. Keep the quote and messages. This site has no paid rankings or invented prices; it is an All Pinatas educational site, and marketplace checkout is not connected yet.
Answers to get started
How do I compare piñata prices fairly?
Compare the complete cost: item, personalization, filling, packaging, shipping or pickup, and tax where applicable. Ask which amounts are estimates. A blank shipping or tax line does not mean it costs nothing.
Does a larger piñata hold more candy?
Not necessarily. Decorative limbs and points may contain little usable space. Ask for internal cavity dimensions and the maker's fill-weight limit. Both space and supported weight matter; outside height alone is not a capacity measurement.
Should I choose pull-string or hit-to-break?
Discuss the participants, venue, supervision and intended activity with the maker. Ask how the specific design opens and what instructions apply. The product's appearance or an age label alone cannot establish suitability.
